Ask An Alum

Ask An Alum is a simple and reliable way to connect you with fellow alumni, to gain answers to your careers questions, via a short email exchange. More than 4,500 alumni are signed up to the Ask An Alum scheme, undertaking a variety of job roles and from a huge range of organisations, sectors, and countries. Career Zone

You can continue to access the Career Zone in exactly the same way now that you have graduated, with all the resources, support and latest jobs that you were used to accessing whilst studying. You will be supported post-graduation, whatever stage you are at in your career journey. Careers support for graduates includes careers advice and guidance via 1:1 appointments with trained careers consultants, interview and CV support, access to Handshake jobs listings, careers research and events. Career mentor scheme

The Career Mentor Scheme is open to recent alumni who have graduated within the last three years!

We have hundreds of experienced professionals offering one-to-one careers advice, support and guidance, to help develop your career. Participants of the scheme are 7% more likely to be in graduate employment after six months than their peers. Even if you have undertaken the scheme before, you can use the scheme again. Access to internships

Access to Internships (A2I) is available to help recent alumni arrange your own paid graduate role in the UK. The Career Zone can help you:

  • Identify potential employers
  • Make an effective approach to request employment
  • Provide employer subsidies to offset the cost of your graduate role

Enterprise and entrepreneurship support

Are you thinking about starting up your own business or improving your entrepreneurial skills? You can access Enterprise & Entrepreneurship careers support as a member of the Exeter alumni community. This includes 1:1 appointments, webinars, skills sessions and much more. Find out more on the website.

Events and webinars

As an alum you will receive invites to a variety of events that take place both in person and virtually related to careers and employability both in the UK and internationally. Previous topics have included ‘building your personal brand’, ‘lessons from alumni in business’ and ‘Job hunting in a difficult economic climate’. Graduate Business Partnerships

The Graduate Business Partnership scheme helps recent graduates secure full-time graduate roles, with supportive employers in the South West.
