Our supportive global alumni community enriches the Exeter experience
One of our key roles is to promote networking amongst our alumni, particularly when we have lots of alumni working in a particular sector, or have similar interests.
Many alumni hold influential positions in these areas and many of them are willing to speak with students and fellow alumni to help with career development.
Such alumni also assist the University, and the Alumni Network Group Committee provides an informal ‘sounding board’ for the Vice-Chancellor and Senior Management and is consulted on strategic issues on an ad-hoc basis with the individual members each representing a different Group, Network, or Faculty.
The main purpose of the group is to advise and take a lead role in helping the University build lifelong relationships with alumni, to promote alumni engagement with the University and fellow alumni, and to give alumni the opportunity to share their views with the University for their specific area of responsibility.
‟Being a part of the Exeter Alumni Community allows me to not only remain socially involved with my peers based upon my sport and business interests, but also to give back to the University as a volunteer and donor to support students and the next generation of alumni. It’s an all-round satisfying and fulfilling experience.”
Ronnie Henderson (Ancient History 2014), Chair of Exetra – the recent alumni group.
We have the following specific alumni networks and groups established to support you throughout your life and career, and to continue your involvement in your area of interest. Each has a different number of events and bespoke communications per year:
- Business School Alumni Comittee
- Law network
- Medical Alumni Network
- Entrepreneurism
- Exeter University Club – which offers a range of social and cultural activities predominantly for retired alumni and their families through its member based branches
Exe-X South West Alumnae Group
The South West Alumnae Group aims to help to connect female graduates in the South West and provide opportunities for alumnae to meet and network.
The Group provides a brilliant way for local female alumni to meet graduates from many different careers and disciplines, expanding their social and professional networks, and to hear the latest news from the University and stay connected to Exeter.
For more information or to get involved with any of these groups please contact the Global Advancement Team.
‟Being part of the Exetra committee has been a fantastic way to reconnect with the University, hear all the exciting changes taking place for current students as well as meeting fellow alumni. The committee is dedicated to creating brilliant networking opportunities at relaxed social occasions, these occasions have been vital for new graduates still finding their way in the world.”

Sports networks

The friendships made through involvement in sport at the University of Exeter last well beyond graduation.
We are proud to have a flourishing alumni community through which alumni regularly meet up at a variety of events and carry out significant fundraising activity, in addition to alumni networks for Golf, Rugby, Hockey, Football, Cricket and Rowing, amongst many other sports alumni networks, which you can join. Events include socials, events to watch the student matches, plus three Alumni Golf Days per year, a reception at Henley Royal Regatta, Hockey annual alumni dinner, two alumni Rugby events, and many alumni vs current student fixtures.
We’re also able to put you in touch with former team mates and help to arrange reunions. Many Sports Clubs have active alumni scenes of their own and organise regular events for their former members.
We produce regular newsletters to keep our alumni up to date with developments and successes in sport at Exeter.

Camborne School of Mines (CSM) Association

The CSM Association is the alumni network for the Camborne School of Mines.
The Association was formed in 1989 to foster comradeship between former students of CSM, to represent their views, promote their interests and maintain the identity of the School.
The CSM Association produces newsletters and yearly journals for alumni with updates from the School and from other alumni around the globe.
